Pink & Green Modern Living Room

Sometimes I like to play if I had a million dollars, I might makeover my living room. Late at night I start scrolling through Pinterest and get lost for hours. The other day, a funky green tufted sofa caught my eye, and it got me thinking. That beauty would look mighty fine combo’d up with a pretty pink somethin’ somethin’. About 3 hours later, this is what I came up with…because when you’re unemployed, you have time to be creative and play around.

And now that we will all singing Barenaked Ladies for the remainder of the day, let’s gather up all our monopoly money, play pretend, and spend that paper.

Home Office Workspace

I spend a lot of time in front of the computer…and I mean a lot. Half of the week, I’m in the city for work. The other half, I’m at home. Don’t be giggling and thinking, “You mean you’re sitting on your couch eatin’ bonbons with the phone in your hand, right.” Ummmm, wrong. Couldn’t be further from the truth.

Because I spend so much time in my home office, I want this workspace to be filled with the vintage goodness I love. After the move, this space became a mish mosh dumping ground for lonely flea finds and junk that didn’t have a home. A cluttered, frustrating mess. Slowly but surely it’s been transforming, and I’ve been sharing the evolution on Instagram (mostly Stories), but I haven’t shared it here. I know…bloggery failure! But I promise to make it up to you in this post. Buckle down the chin strap because you’re in for a year’s worth tweaking and rearranging my home office. Let’s go!

Basement Bathroom Makeover Update

Meet the tiniest room in my house that has been my biggest design challenge to date. An update on the basement bathroom makeover has been long overdue. Like waaaaaaay long over due. Here’s a quick walk down memory lane. Remember when the basement flooded and we decided since we were forced to renovate, why not gut the bathroom? Well everything came to a screeching halt when it came to one particular detail…the mirror. I know right? It all happened while finishing up Potty Paradise, but didn’t think it would hold me up this badly. But it just goes to show you that design takes time. Don’t rush it…which apparently also goes for naming this space.

That’s right. No one in the house has been able to come up with a good name for this space. We talked about Black Beauty, but that seems basic compared to Potty Paradise. Maybe you’ll have suggestions by the time you get to the end of this post?

Vintage Scores — Hallway Decor

I fell in love with a blue chair last Fall. The Savoy Flea posted it to her Instagram and the velvety goodness caught my eye…my heart skipped a beat. A couple months later, I made my way down to the shop. The entire drive into the city I wondered if the pretty blue peacock chair had sold…I rang the bell, walked in and finally saw her in person. She took my breath away. Another customer walked over and touched her. Laser beams shot out of my eyes and every fiber of my being wanted to scream back off!

I didn’t dare sit in her for fear i’d never leave. It was pure torture to walk out the door.

Home Decor – New Artwork for Spring

Since we moved in, I’ve kinda wanted to break up with the artwork in the kitchen. A beach scene I bought 5 years ago that hung above the mantle in the old house. I loved it when I bought it, but now, well, I think it’s just time for a change. When we moved, I dismissed my old fling and haphazardly placed it in the kitchen…a tropical, Hawaiian beach scene. It’s been a good run with this beachy piece, but let’s shake it up and do a switcheroo. Let’s find some new artwork for Spring!
