This week was incredibly exciting. The Cambria quartz was cut and finally installed today! If you didn’t catch the play by play, don’t fret, it’s saved to Instagram in the Kitchen Reno highlight bubble. There were a couple of sketchy moments like, how are we going to install the wet bar backsplash…oh, let’s just remove the countertop with the sink and shim and raise the backsplash with crowbars. Ummm, ya, it was some serious Macgyver moves that had me holding my breath, but it looks absolutely amazing! Next up is the lighting, and lemme tell you, this was a really difficult decision! So many options. In case you’re in the same design dilemma, here are 11 pendant pairing for all your kitchen island lighting desires.
If you’ve been around these parts for a while now, you may have wondered why I no longer post photos of the master bedroom. Well, ever since we moved, the design just seemed off. The navy blue headboard was just too high and zip zilch nadda worked above it. There is a weird inset between two storage closets where there should be something amazing, but no matter what I popped in there, it did not scream shazam. Alas, there was a disconnect between the old design and the new house.
When Universal Furniture approached me to partner up, I was all in for a master bedroom makeover. BTDubs, the entire post makes feel like I’m on an episode of Cribs…“this is where the magic happens”. Anyhoo, here’s is a sneaky peek, and if you think this is good, just wait for the full reveal, and you don’t want to miss the before look.
Demo on the kitchen is almost complete which means I better nail down my decor decisions. So how am I going to dress up this former fast flip from the previous owners? Let’s dig into glam kitchen decor with final stone selects and some glammed up decor options.
Today is an exciting day because demolition is starting on the kitchen. Can I get a woot woot! While I might be snoopy dancing to the sound of sledgehammers and saws, I must admit, this renovation has been a bit of a learning curve. There’s no room for screwups and attention to detail is a must. So first and foremost, I have to send a huge thank you shoutout to MGT Stone of Barrington for hooking me up with MidConCo also of Barrington (and no, that’s not a sponsored shoutout…I’m just over the moon with the quality of work).
While choosing finishes for the Cambria countertops, Nanette from MGT Stone recommended MidConCo as my general contractor and said, “if you want the best, you want Brian and his team”. She was right. Pre-demo Brian popped in to take a look at the project and pointed out details that never crossed my mind.
For me, fall decorating is tricky sitch. As you know I’m not a fan of bright colors…everytime I try to incorporate anything more than navy blue the fruit bowl effect happens…but yes, I’m reading this book for color help. If I were to combine orange and red with pumpkin spice and everything nice, clutch the pearls honey, I’d break my house. Remember the purple pig incident?
Now, I’m not the grinch who stole autumn, I just decorate for fall in a different way. Think plaids, buffalo check (this cute little black and white pouf), warm chenille blankies and can’t forget the faux fur. Rather than full out fall decor, I create cozy nooks to curl up in. To show you exactly what I mean, I wanted to share a room full of fall decor all from Walmart. Let’s break it down.
