Happy Tuesday! In today’s Beautiful Distractions, I’m sharing things that have recently arrived on my doorstep, interesting articles I’ve read, and objects on my wishlist. But, before we get into it if you’re having one of those rollercoaster weeks, where everything seems to be going swimmingly, and then suddenly, it all goes to shit…”god have mercy.” My BFF Marianne sent this gem to me a couple of weeks ago, and this had me dead, “Honey if I die, Imma be dying with you.”

New Funky Pants
These blue and green linen pants arrived in my inbox last week and I couldn’t slam my finger down on the buy now button fast enough. If they look familiar, you’re eyes do not deceive you. I shared them in my last Things I Bought post. If you don’t love the funky blue and green patter but you like the pants, well, you’re in luck! They come in 14 different colors.
Eclectic Modern Chair
I keep hoping the porch fairies will deliver this striped accent chair, but until I find $1400, that won’t happen. I’ve been lusting over it for years, so a girl can dream. It’s available in blue, black, or red stripes and a heaping side of cool AF.

A few of my online friends have shared this article from New York Magazine, and it’s an interesting look at inflation and cost of living. They asked a wide range of New Yorkers, all 30 and under and childless, for their dream lifestyle and calculated the cost of each.
I’d love to know which lifestyle you resonate with—I think I’m Rachel who wants to live in a house in Bronxville with a pool and au pair. The total cost a year for this dream furutre is $262,367/year after a one time payment of $359,141. Sadly, that dream future is pretty unobtainable for most.
Vintage Movie Night
The movie, The Party, is on my must watch list. Again, I have to thank my friend Marianne for sharing. The vintage decor is bonkers good as is the fashion. Also, Peter Sellers is pure genius. Check out the trailer below.
New In Makeup, Hair, and Skincare
My friend Colleen and I chatted about contouring makeup tricks that sent me down a rabbit hole. Definitely a fan of the Makeup By Mario contouring stick, and I was indoctrinated into the world of Rare Beauty by Serena Gomez. This liquid highlighter is a new favorite—if it’s sold out (which happens a lot), you can probably find it at Kohl’s.
The Rare Beauty mascara fell into my cart, and guess what? It doesn’t clump! I’ve been using this one to help with lash growth, but it’s not as smooth as the Rare Beauty and costs way more.

This Korean skincare sunscreen is a new favorite sunscreen lotion for my body and face. Lightweight, not sticking, and doesn’t leave that white haze. It’s SPF 50+; however, it is not water-resistant—I repeat, NOT WATER-RESISTANT—but you can use it on your face and not break out like crazy. I”ve been putting it on every morning before walking the dog and reapplying when I go back out in the afternoon. Best part, it costs less than $10.
For Mother’s Day, I caved and bought myself the Dyson Airwrap and plan to write a full review, but in short, it’s great for styling, but not so much when it comes to drying my hair. My T3 hairdryer and Gretchen Brush does a much better job with drying wet hair. (BTDubs, that brush is my favorite {my stylist introduced me to it years ago}, but it’s tough to find in The States. The website I linked to is legit; it just looks sketchy. I think it’s out of Canada.)
My son hijacked my ride or die moisturizer so I bought a new one that keeps popping up as a favorite with the skin care YouTubers. I’m getting older and can see it in my skin, so I amped up the peptides with Drunk Elephant. Three days in, so far, so good! I’ll keep ya posted.
