I thought I’d try a little experiment and warm up my all-white kitchen with this wood table from Ashley. Now, I love my kitchen even though I’ve heard a few interior designers say all-white kitchens are out. “They are too cold and sterile. Yadda, yadda, yadda.” A load of baloney if you ask me. White cabinets and countertops are timeless and will never go out of style, but if you’ve read my post about trends and fads, you know a classic trend steps up or down in popularity for a certain amount of time. Adding wood to any space will give it warmth, so let’s get styling!

Warming Up An All-White Kitchen With Wood
This affordable table from Ashley has a transitional look and feel, so it will fit seamlessly with pretty much any decor style; even with my eclectic vintage modern style, it works.
The wing back chairs were delivered to my doorstep in two boxes (sold as a set of 2) and are easy to assemble.
The table was conveniently delivered white glove delivery, where three guys came to my house and put it together for me. I love them for that. It saves so much time.
They even took all the cardboard with them. Now that the table and chairs are in place let’s give it some personality and choose a centerpiece bowl.
Simply Styling Ideas For A Kitchen Table
For the first look, I’m using a large smoked glass bowl I bought at an estate sale a few years ago. Very minimal, but I like using a simple piece like this because it’s easy to clear the table for for dinner (which we do every night).
However, most days, it’s filled with “Zoe things,” like math worksheets, hair ties, friendship bracelets, and stickers. BTDub, this is the bowl that has been styled here for years.

For the second look, I thought I’d be extra and filled this vintage brass bowl I got from a flea market for $5 with old chunks of coral and shells I picked up at a local vintage shop.
This unexpected look is more bohemian, but that bowl itself is pretty heavy weight-wise with all that coral. Since we use this table every day, I’m a little nervous that one of my kids or The Boy will drop it on the floor, and it’s gonna be a massive mess.
For the third and final look, I grabbed this vintage pot from, you guessed it, an estate sale and filled it with some artificial flowers.
This a great idea if you love to decorate seasonally. If you want to transition from summer to fall decor, pop some faux magnolia stems or anything with autumnal colors.
Here’s a closer look at the beautiful wood top on this table.

Ashley has a lot of dining tables to choose from, but I was specifically looking for a round table to fit the space the best. The dining chairs are also from Ashley, and even though I’m mixing wood tones (see the legs), they fit my decor style because nothing in my home is super matchy-matchy.

Remodeling a kitchen isn’t something you do every other year, so you need to find simple decor or furniture swapouts if you are unhappy with what you have. I hope this post helps you think outside the box, especially if you’re looking to make a big impact with an affordable price tag.

That is one beautiful table. Love the look of the first bowl (actually love them all), The black picks up the black of your artwork.
