Playing Favorites — 14 Etsy Pillows I’m Eyeballin’

I got 99 problems but a pillow ain’t one…well, that is until I try mixing patterns. Then I have all sorts of issues, but that’s a totally different blog post. My work around is if you buy enough pillows eventually you find the perfect mix. Solves all problems, am I right?

14 Etsy pillows I want right now

Most rooms in the new house are really starting to come together, and that means adding pops if color here and there. An easy way to do that is by adding pillows, but I don’t like spending a ton of money…and believe you me, when you start looking at Pierre Frey, Schumacher, and Kelly Wearstler prints, those suckas can cost a pretty penny. Lucky for you, I wrangled together 14 Etsy pillows I’m loving right now.

Beautiful Distractions No. 4

Dear diary, it’s been over a week since my last blog post…ahhh! You guys! I’m so sorry. And I was smashing that post once a week New Year’s Resolution. The job that pays the bills came down on me hard with a crazy deadline for a new client website. Everything needed to be designed and coded in a matter of days for a presentation. And darn it, it broke my streak. But, after pulling a few all-nighters and a couple glasses of wine, I’m back baby and ready to share whats been distracting me lately.

A White Tank Top and Lesson Learned

Sometimes I have a really hard time falling asleep. My mind is racing about a work deadline, a blog post idea, my oldest got in trouble at school, my youngest decided to cut her own hair, random errands I forgot to run, a unicorn bell I sold on Chairish and totally forgot to ship. You know, normal life chaos that everyone deals with. When I can’t turn my brain off, I tend to scroll through my favorite vintage sites. From tufted navy blue velvet sofas to coral channel back chairs to mid-century lighting, slowly but surely these pretty treasures lull me to dreamy-dreamy land.

A plain white tank top hanging on a wire coat hanger with a "M" on a tag sticking out of it. No color. Black and white pencil drawing.

About a month or so ago, late one night, I was scrolling through Everything But The House and found some art I really adored. Like “I must have this” adoration. I’m not sure what really drew me in, I mean, it was just a picture of a tank top. A plain white tank top hanging on a wire coat hanger with a “M” on a tag sticking out of it. No color. Black and white. Simple. At first I thought it was photograph but after reading the item description, I learned it was an original pencil drawing. Signed, but by no one in particular…well, I can’t say that for sure…you actually can’t make out the signature. With every second I stared at it, I adored it even more. It was simply stunning.

Beautiful Distractions No. 2

Nothing like some mid-week distractions to really pass the day away. Am I right? Every morning and evening I’m perusing Pinterest, reading blog posts, scanning new catalog and magazine arrivals and oooohing and aaaahing over pretty things. Sometimes I share them on Snapchat (like my spa night last Saturday or my blunders in self tanning), but most of the time, you never get to hear what I’m really loving right now…this very instant. That’s what Beautiful Distractions is all about.
