Master Bedroom Makeover with Universal Furniture

If you’ve been around these parts for a while now, you may have wondered why I no longer post photos of the master bedroom. Well, ever since we moved, the design just seemed off. The navy blue headboard was just too high and zip zilch nadda worked above it. There is a weird inset between two storage closets where there should be something amazing, but no matter what I popped in there, it did not scream shazam. Alas, there was a disconnect between the old design and the new house.

When Universal Furniture approached me to partner up, I was all in for a master bedroom makeover. BTDubs, the entire post makes feel like I’m on an episode of Cribs…“this is where the magic happens”. Anyhoo, here’s is a sneaky peek, and if you think this is good, just wait for the full reveal, and you don’t want to miss the before look.

Guest Bedroom Refresh With Drew Barrymore’s Flower Home and Walmart

Drew Barrymore just dropped an all new home decor line at Walmart called Flower Home, and it couldn’t be any more perfect! It’s a little bit boho, with a touch of glam and whimsy. So Drew, and right up my alley. Oh, and did I mention it’s completely affordable? Ummm ya. As of late, I’m under a pretty strict budget, so I thought this collaboration would be the perfect time for a guest bedroom refresh!

Little Girl Bedroom — Dueling Kids’ Rooms

My children have been neglected…well, I should clarify…their bedrooms have been neglected. What can I say, bedrooms for little kids kind of intimidated me. Colors and patterns can easily turn into a hot mess, and let’s face it, I’m not the type of parent who will sign off on a Disney princess themed room…much to my daughter’s dismay.

Adorable pink little girl's bedroom makeover is perfect for a princess.

About a year ago, I made a Pinterest mood board for Zoe’s bedroom. It’s sat sad and empty until last week. Something lit a fire under me, and I started pinning all things pink like a banshee. I really liked the direction it was going and finished it within a couple hours. Holy moly it actually looked pretty good!

Shopping For Bedding — White Sale

If your read my last post, then you already know the New Year is THE time to wipe the slate clean. January is all about getting organized and giving your home a refresh. It’s also the time to keep your eyes peeled for the ever popular White Sale. I for one have been on the lookout for some deals on new bedding for the guest room.

Over the last year, I’ve been trying to perfect that messy yet cozy looking bed in this space. Do you know what I’m talking about? The perfect “Pinterest” bed. Mixing and matching patterns, combining linen with cotton. As you can see, it’s pretty much been an epic fail. I’m ready to give up. It’s just not cohesive. One thing I’ve determined problematic is the bright white looks too stark against that earthy leather gym mat headboard. It needs to be warmed up. Maybe a blush or gold or ivory?

How to Install a Ceiling Medallion and Lighting – DIY

After purchasing a ceiling medallion and lighting last November, we finally installed it Saturday. You may have caught a few glimpses of the DIY on Instagram Stories, but if you missed it, here is the the full install in all its glory including the final reveal, which wound up looking killer.

DIY - How to install a ceiling medallion

After about 2.5 minutes into the install, The Boy said…and I quote, “I am loathing this already. I’m envisioning much cursing, sweating, and a trip or 7 to Home Depot in my near future.” He was right. There was 1 trip to Home Depot and some sweat involved. There was also, “please, please, pretty please with sugar on top” uttered which is how we curse in front of the small children, so one could argue there was foul language. But all in all, it was surprisingly simple.
