Amour Fou — A Parisian Cocktail Recipe

Yes, I know I’m long overdue for a Parsian recap. Je suis désolée. Summer and unemployment got the best of me. But, I promise to have a full Paris Flea post or two in the next month or so…where I went, what I bought, and what I wish I would have known. But until then, I hope this bordello inspired boozy beverage will tide you over.

Maison Souquet hotel Elisa cocktail might have the best boozy beverage I've ever had. Les Belles Horizontales. Vanilla Vodka, Lillet and a Champagne Float.

The Lime In The Coconut – Cocktail Recipe

I’m definitely no longer on vacation in Puerto Rico…reality set in weeks ago. But that doesn’t mean I can’t bring the beach back home. The sun is shining, and the boxes from the move are unpacked (mostly because of The Boy’s Type A personality). My job here is done which means I can kick back, relax, and soak up some sun. It’s time enjoy the new patio, sponsored by World Market, with a summer time drink in my hand. Today, I’m going to share with you The Lime In The Coconut cocktail recipe because it’s magically delicious! If it was acceptable, I’d swim around in a vat of this drink.

And before you scurry back to work, be sure to stop over to Jojotastic because Joanna has a great DIY Ultimate After Sun Soothing Lotion…and believe me, I could have used that after day 1 in Puerto Rico! Ouch!

Tuesdays are for __________. My answer? Cocktail time! I know, I know, it’s been such a long time since I shared a fun cocktail recipe, but I’m going to make it up to you by hitting you with a doozy. Now, normally after a couple weeks, I get bored with my cocktail of choice, and I have to change it up. But, this one has been on heavy rotation since my New Year’s Eve party. I thought the Champagne Smash was going to be the cocktail of choice that night, but boy was I wrong. Everyone kept saying, “Hey Kyla! Can you make me another one of those orange guys?” Sure thing! Comin’ right up.

Champagne Smash Cocktail Recipe

Hey, hey you guys! Have you missed me? I just wanted to pop in really quick from vacation to let you know about this amazing signature cocktail for New Year’s Eve! Cocktail parties are super fun, but to make it a bit fancier, I like to have a little sumthin’ sumthin’ special up my sleeve. Something my guests will remember. With New Year’s Eve being tomorrow, I decided to share one of my favorites with you my little lovelies! Really quick, the Champagne Smash cocktail recipe.

If you’ve been here before, you know I like to indulge in a cocktail or two (okay, maybe three or four on occasion, who am I kidding). But, if you’re new and just happened to land here today by pure luck, be sure to check out The Indie Wild Mule, the classic Wisconsin Old-Fashioned and of course The Poor Liza if you’re throwing The Wildwood Speakeasy New Year’s Bash! Yes, I will definitely be sipping on a Poor Liza tomorrow night, but that baby packs a punch and it doesn’t include champagne…which is kinda what I’m craving right now, and this sucka has bubbly perfection for a special occasion (eh-hem like midnight).

Poor Liza Cocktail Recipe

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Wildwood Speakeasy New Year’s Eve party! How did you guys do on that Vintage Floral Inspired Centerpiece Laura from Avery Street Design created? It was seriously breathtaking! I can’t wait to make one of my own. So lovely and whimsical. Tomorrow Grace from The Big Reveal is up, but first, I’m going to show you how to make a little signature cocktail for this shindig. Here is the Poor Liza Cocktail Recipe.

On January 16, 1920, the 18th Amendment passed. Otherwise known as Prohibition. Did they really think people would stop drinking? BAHAHAHA…ya, no. Potions were mixed combining spirits, juices, syrups and a couple dashes of this or that. People found innovative ways to consume alcohol and speakeasys started popping up everywhere. Secret places, anywhere from basements to abandoned buildings had back entrances, secret passwords, special knocks and membership cards. Booze was limited and bartenders created cocktail recipes that have stood the test of time. Clearly they took their potions seriously.
