My neighbor and I were chatting about decor (of course). She moved here from the city about a year ago, and we got on the topic of throw blankets. She said, “It’s just me and my husband.  What do I do with 12 blankets?” My response was, you need a stylish storage basket. That got me thinking about my throw storage—a rattan basket in the living room that has seen better days and how it tends to snag my blankets. It drives me bonkers. So, I went on a quest and headed to the new Wayfair store in Wilmette (also available online with free shipping) to find affordable, stylish storage baskets.

3. Double Tuck Felt Basket – How cleverly designed is this stylish storage basket? If you want to swap it out for something else, it can be stored flat.

Styling My New Leather Baskets In The Living Room

Since the brown leather storage baskets come in a set of two, I’m going to share both ways that I’ve styled them. The first is in the front room with a mustard-colored throw blanket also purchased at Wayfair.

I used the larger of the two in the living room where we watch TV. This is where I keep most of our throws.

Another Storage Idea For The Living Room

I’ve also been eyeballing this set of two velvet storage ottomans (available in 6 different colors). The modern abstract shape gives these ottomans a luxe, high-end look and feel. I found them in the Wilmette store, but you can also find them online. 

Expert Tip For Styling Your Throw Blankets

You might notice I have a unique way of styling my throws in storage baskets. It’s not the typical fold in a square and toss. Check out this before and after. So much better, am I right?

I fold the long way and roll loosely, which is not only great for organizing but also for showing off a fringe detail. This allows me to see all my throws, and my favorite blankets don’t stay hidden—definitely a must-try styling tip.
