We Got A New Sofa – With Jonathan Louis

This post is sponsored by Jonathan Louis.

Today I have a before and after furniture reveal that is pretty much mindblowing. A while back, I wrote about a quest for the perfect TV watching sofa. When we first moved into the house, I had purchased a vintage sofa with the thought process of it’s: used, it already has dents and dings, and I won’t be sad when my kids wreck it. That thought process lasted for exactly 4 months.

Before and After Living Room Makeover Reveal with Jonathan Louis

After daily use, there were 3 new holes in the beautifully patinaed leather and my son had used his fingernail to scratch words into the back side of the leather. It was also sat through and incredibly uncomfortable with its shlumpy cushions. I had made a design disaster, and we needed a new sofa…badly.

One Room Challenge – Office Makeover

Patience is not a virtue of mine. Albeit convenient, online shopping obviously lacks immediate gratification. And when you’re in a time crunch like the One Room Challenge where you pick one room to transform from hot mess to hallelujah and only have 6 weeks to do so, well, waiting a week for deliveries was probably not my smartest move. I’m now thinking instead of napping last Sunday, I really should have driven my lazy bum to West Elm to buy blush pillows and blue vases. Instead I chose to buy them off the interwebs and sleep. Now I pay the price and pace like a caged animal. I also have to apologize up front. My lighting acted up while shooting, so you’ll have to excuse the mediocre iPhone imagery in this post. Hopefully I’ll get this snafoo repaired before next week’s shoot. Hey! One Room Challenge! You’re kicking my anxiety into over drive!

The One Room Challenge Home Office interior design makeover is in Week 4, and I've been styling vignettes.

Home Office Design Project – One Room Challenge Week 3

Confidence is building with the home office design project as I push through Week 3 of the One Room Challenge hosted by Calling It Home. In case you don’t remember, last week, I was styling the window sill behind the vintage Chesterfield from South Loop Loft and finishing the build on my new workspace. A last minute decision was made, throwing me off my game plan, and I chose not to use vintage indigo wedding panels and rattan I had found at a flea. My gut was telling me it was a bit trendy and overdone. Instead ordered up a beautiful mid-century modern velvet blush chair. I have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that it arrives in the next couple weeks…or at least before this challenge wraps.

Decorist Bedroom Makeover Before & After Part 1

Hey you guys! How’s your week going? Did you read my last post? Well, I figured out a solution to my new found love of whites and neutrals. I’ve teamed up with Decorist to knock out my guest bedroom makeover. It’s been on my to do list, but I just wasn’t sure exactly how I wanted it to look.

If you haven’t heard of Decorist, you should. I found them about a year ago and have been watching them grow and basically change the interior design industry as we know it. By working virtually with a professional interior designer, they will help you take your room from now to wow with just a point and a click. No longer shall we hear, “I would love to hire an interior designer, but I can’t afford one” because Decorist takes your room and redesigns it to perfection for just a small fee.

Found & Foraged Linky Party #16

Oh home decor, you’re a tricky little bugger. Last week a reader advised me to take a step back from my bedroom makeover. I took that advice, and I’m glad I did. Thankful for your comments, I’m seeing this room with much more clarity. A couple weeks ago, I was shaking the Magic 8 Ball and asking if I’d get thru this one. It replied, “Don’t Count On It”, but today it said, “As I See It Yes”. Ha, I kid. I really don’t plan my home decor around a Magic 8 Ball, but if I did, it might keep things interesting around the house, that’s for sure!

Anyhoo, last Saturday, I wound up stopping into Scout and Brimfield and found this cute Saarinen side table. Once I finally dragged it out of the car, the white was popping and the round shape was softening the space. Yahtzee! I also made you guys a mixtape last Wednesday. It’s something I do every so often to mix things up around here. If you take a listen, you’ll have to tell me how you like it. I also received my style shoot photos from Hallie. I’m really excited to share them with you; be on the lookout for that post next week. I’m also working on another “I Make Emily Henderson Cry” post.

But enough about me, let’s get to this linky party already! Welcome to Found & Foraged you guys! I’m so happy you made it. Last week we got off to a really slow start, but wound up with over 180 link ups by Wednesday. So I’m going to take a poll. Do you guys like Saturday night linky parties? Or is Saturday night one of those personal funday nights? If you want to move it, we can always move it. You let me know. So what have you been working on? Spring cleaning? St. Pat’s parties? Home decor? A cool DIY? I can’t wait to see! Link it up!
