Last year, I bought my childhood home and gave it a special little name that only a handful of people will understand or remember. Because apparently, a second mortgage wasn’t enough; the house needed an entire backstory. Here's a little story about how Devi Bara got its name. Hello Wisconsin! If you are Gen X or older an[...]
It has been a REALLY long time since I logged into this website to publish a post. I promised myself when I created this little blog that I would never ever abandon it, but that's exactly what I did...for over a year. A lot has changed, yet everything is the same. If you've been following along on Instagram, you know we closed on my chil[...]
Last month I shared that I'm buying my childhood home in Wisconsin. During my latest visit, I gave the existing bathroom decor some serious side-eye. My parents recently renovated the main bathroom, but I thought it might be fun to design a few bathroom makeover mood boards. In January, Wayfair challenged me to redesign the living room,[...]
The cat is outta the bag, and the rumors are true — I'm purchasing my childhood home! If you read yesterday's post, you know it's a 3-bedroom split-level ranch home in rural Wisconsin. I've attended a few and always had a good time, but this one, in particular, was interesting, and I wound up having a major personal revelation. The day before we left fo[...]
Our friends invited us to their lake home in Northern Wisconsin for a much-needed weekend getaway and fun in the sun, but the best part was that I found some summer lakeside must haves I want to share with you. Stay Cool On The Water With These Lakeside Must Haves Notice how hazy it is? That's the Canadian wildfire smoke. It h[...]
A few weeks ago, while glamping at Camp Wandawega, we dined at The Duck Inn, a good old Wisconsin supper club, so of course, I ordered a Brandy Old-Fashioned Sweet cocktail. Unless you live in Wisconsin, finding a bartender who can mix a good one is hard. In fact, a bartender in Florida looked at me like I was from Mars when I[...]
Happy Wednesday you guys! I have to tell ya, I didn't think much could top my getaway weekend at Camp Wandawega, but let me tell you, I think I died and went to junkyard heaven when walked through the pearly gates of the Elkhorn Flea last Sunday morning. Now, I've been to many a flea, but I'd have to say this is one of THE best I've ever[...]
