One thing I’m wrapping my head around is how bored I am with all the white walls in my home. But simply adding a wall treatment after designing a room without giving the space an entire rehaul is nearly impossible. Plus getting it to flow with the adjacent rooms is like opening a can of decor worms. Mouldings, millwork, paint, wallpaper, grasscloth, lime wash, Roman clay, Venetian plaster...all treatments that could take this dining room to the next level. So...what would you do in this space? When the kidney shaped council moved into the living room, I took the gold velvet curtains down. The gold on gold mixed with the brass etagere...ooooph I had to wear shades in here. But, now this room looks oh so boring. I need to bring the color back in...should I do rust? A medium blue? Maybe a light shade a lilac? What about rust and blue? As soon as that decision is made, I can start looking at grasscloth for some added texture on the walls. I’m also toying with moving the brass shelf outta here and finding something modern and maybe black?
