The Decorist DesignOff with Jojotastic & House Of Hipsters– Part 1

Moving day officially arrived last Friday. It feels like it took forever, but it finally happen it, and it only took 1 semi-truck plus 1 large package truck and 8 burly men to get us out of one space and into another. Oy! It was a crazy hot day without air conditioning on the hottest day of the year (that’s a whole nuther story)…but we made it! As I was moving chairs and sofas from room to room, the space just felt like home. It didn’t feel new, but instead felt warm and cozy…like we had lived there for years. I guess that’s probably how it’s supposed to feel. However, you know how I like to shake it up…itching for something new, so I reached out to Decorist for some virtual online design fun because this one can’t hold still for long. We have dubbed this project The Decorist DesignOff.

#AmazingAnastasia and Loloi Rugs

The One Room Challenge is not for the faint of heart. You have to be prepared and accept change without hesitation. Be versatile and roll with all the punches and snaffoos that are thrown your way. Maybe the sofa will be on backorder or take 12 weeks for delivery or won’t fit through the door. Maybe the paint color is all wrong, or the weather won’t cooperate making your contractor run behind. The chandelier was delivered in pieces. It happens. It’s life. But you only have 6 weeks from start to finish, so you better be able to think on your feet.

Loloi Rugs - Anastasia — Ornate traditionals distressed and full of character are modernized by illuminating color-ways in the Anastasia collection. Power loomed in Egypt of polypropylene and polyester, Anastasia not only is durable and easy care, but gives the appearance of being a fine rug made by hand. The intricate detail, luster of colors, and unbeatable price point establish the value of this outstanding collection. Anastasia is available in various sizes including rounds and runners.

When creating my mood board I tried my best to channel versatility. If something fell through I could make a change without having my space fall apart. The rug was going to be my foundation piece. If I could nailed the rug, I merely had to accessorizing it. The search was on but didn’t take long. Being a fan of Emily Henderson, I knew she had blogged about Loloi Rugs awhile back. They wound up being my first and only stop. (Don’t worry, at the bottom of this post, I let ya know where you can pick a Loloi Rugs up for your own space.)

One Room Challenge – Week 1

Late last Spring I gave both my master and guest bedroom a major makeover. I was on design project overload, and oddly, it seemed like every other blogger on the planet was doing the same. What a strange coincidence. Everyone I knew was suddenly tearing their homes apart and documenting the process. Why are you guys stealing my thunder with your amazing room makeovers? Knock it off already. What the heck people? I kept seeing One Room Challenge here and One Room Challenge there. I’m sorry? What is this One Room Challenge you speak of?One Room Challenge

Finally, one night, I Googled One Room Challenge and was immediately taken to Calling It Home…an amazing blog on home interiors and low and behold, the creator of the one and only One Room Challenge. Twice a year, if they are up for it, bloggers are challenge to give an incredible room makeover to a disaster zone and given only 6 weeks to complete it. Motivating? Yes. Challenging? Yes. Insanely crazy? YES! How did I not know about this? Where was the blogger memo? How did I miss it, and more importantly, how can I join in because man-o-man does this look like one heck of a good time. Well, I had to wait until Fall to participate, but that time is now, and I’m here with bells on. Let’s do this already!
