No Makeup Home Tour — Spring 2018

I don’t know about you, but when I scroll through Instagram, I sometimes think to myself, ugh, my house is so gross…these rooms are so beautiful with their fanciness…why can’t my house look more like this? It’s not really the green monster of jealousy, but ya, sometimes it bums me out. Then I meet amazing people with bonkers style, and they tell me, “I wish my house was as pretty as yours.” Wait, wut???

No Makeup Home Tour - House of Hipsters Living Room

This my friend is why I created the No Makeup Home Tour™. It draws back the curtain, and gives you a real life look at the design blogger’s home…well, in this case 16 design bloggers’ homes…yep…you read that right…16! The list is below, and I highly suggest you boogie on over to check them all out…screw work…the spreadsheets can wait. This is hella more important.

Some rooms will be drop dead gorgeous…and other rooms will be hotter than a hawt mess. Last Fall we saw toys, high chairs, crazy workspaces, and let’s not forget the one blogger who barricades her sofa with dining chairs to keep the pets off…not judging…it’s actually quite brilliant. Let’s get into it and let the hilarity begin, shall we?

The Prettiest Scarves On The Planet — Centinelle Scarves

“Neon-flavored icing on the vanilla cake of life” — that’s the tagline for Centinelle scarves. Let me explain. Y’all know @ihavethisthingwithpink, but I apparently also have this thing with scarves. I’m presently having a love affair and wearing them around my neck, wrist, head, purse strap…basically anywhere, for any occasion.

A post shared by Amy Roiland (@afashionnerd) on

Not too long ago, I stumbled upon @afashionnerd’s Instagram account (Amy Roiland), and she was wearing this killer cool scarf around her head. The perfect shade of rusty orange with leopards wearing swim floaties. Wait, what??? I must investigate further.

Home Decor Trends — High Point Part 1

I’m not sure if there’s anything that could have prepared me for the experience of High Point Market. Having been to a trade show or two in the past I figured I’d see lots of fancy looking people wearing lanyards and a very large open space filled with booths — WRONG! High Point is basically a downtown area plus 2 massive buildings with like 8 floors each and multiple wings full of furniture. Each brand has a showroom…some small…some larger than the square footage of my house.

The Uber driver pulled up to the 2 main buildings, and he turns around and says, “Where to?”. Ummmmmm, dude, you’ve been driving people here all week…was kinda hoping you’d know. I hopped out, looked at him and said, “Wish me luck!”…he chuckled. This whopper of an event was 20 million times more massive than I thought it would be, and I was super thankful I flew in the day before the Design Bloggers Tour.

My first stop before the tour was Consort. An in person meeting with co-founders Mat Sanders and Brandon Quattrone…FANGIRLING ALERT! The colors and curves of their newest collection was lit. Also, they are 2 of the sweetest guys you’ll ever meet. Oh, and we also decided to make sconces out of my vintage earrings. If they ever come to fruition, mark my words, they will be in my master bathroom and hallway and dining room and well, everywhere.

Ok, so let’s talk trends and home decor eye candy. I mean, that’s why you’re here, right?
