Happy Wednesday! Two more weeks until the One Room Challenge final bathroom makeover reveal. I’m at that point where I’m so close I can almost taste it. This week was pretty much a DIY of how to turn an antique dresser into a bathroom vanity. We made it thru, and the light is shining bright at the end of the tunnel with only a couple minor bumps in the road…backorder sconces and sink but nothing too bad.
What started out as a blah, boring, beige and brown bathroom, is now transforming into what dreams are made of. Gerry has been kicking some serious butt…BTDubs, when the contractor gets more excited than you about your project, then you know it’s going to be really good. He and I are quickly becoming besties…bonding over what my son has deemed, “Potty Paradise”.

Happy almost Valentine’s Day lovers!!! Seriously, how did THAT happen? This is always one of those hallmark holidays that sneaks up on me. It’s like I sail through Thanksgiving thinking I’m on top of my game and get clobbered by Christmas. When I was a kid V-Day was a favorite of mine. I loved exchanging those tiny cards with Bugs Bunny or Strawberry Shortcake. The boys would give Transformers and Star Wars cards. Each envelope would be attached with a heart shaped sucker, stuffed with “talking” hearts or SweetTarts. You’d eat pink frosted cupcakes and paste a doily and big red heart on a brown paper bag to collected your loot. Well, this year’s different. I’m celebrating and gifting you two Valentine’s Day free printables! How ya like them apples?

Hey guys! Hope you are having an awesome week! So I have kind of a different post today. Last week I received a sweet email from my new blogger friends Foxtail + Moss asking me if I wanted to participate in a DIY Blog Tour. Ummm, really? YES PLEASE! They too are from Chicago, and I heart their work so much; how could I say no? (Seriously, these girls kick some serious DIY butt, and I’m completely honored they even consider me!) The girls sent me a few questions which I’ve answered below and then I’m handing you off to my favorite DIY blogger. That might just have been the hardest part of the interview! There are so many talented bloggers out there.

I have to admit, 100% of the time, if you were to place two identical items in front of me, one having spectacular packaging and the other with horrible type and all the crazy colors of a fruit bowl, I’d pick the pretty packaging hands down. Even if it was more money, I’d buy the pretty packaging. Materialistic, maybe? Vain, maybe? I’d like to
think hope chalk it up to good taste. But one this is for sure, it’s the graphic designer in me. I crush on good typography. I live for it. I’m constantly judging magazines and billboards for their kerning. I just can’t help it.
When we embarked on the adventure of refinishing our basement, I was pregnant with little maus. Being that my office was soon to become her nursery, I knew I had to move downstairs…which meant downsizing a bit. Being a graphic designer and a
hoarder collector of vintage loveliness, I needed a lot of storage space, but I also wanted a pretty sumthin’ sumthin’ to display such loveliness. Shelving was on my mind.
