DIY Vintage Headpieces

IT’S DAY 6! I don’t mean to shout, BUT IT’S DAY 6!!!!!! I hope you guys have had as much fun with the Wildwood Speakeasy New Year’s Eve party as we have. I know I’ve said this before, but seeing it all come together has been so exciting. This past week has been like Christmas every day. Each morning I race to my computer to see what Laura from Avery Street Design and Grace from The Big Reveal have written and created. Since we aren’t neighbors, we really don’t get to see the full post until it goes live. Just a couple texts of pictures to make sure we’re all on board. Each post has been so insanely beautiful, I can’t even stand it. These ladies are truly talented and working with them has been just dreamy. But alas, all good things must come to an end. For our grand finale, Grace is going to wrap things up with a tutorial on gorgeous DIY Vintage Headpieces.

Wildwood Speakeasy New Year’s Party

Today my blogger besties over at Avery Street Design and The Big Reveal bring you the Wildwood Speakeasy New Year’s Eve theme party tailored just for you! That’s right, today and every day for the rest of the week, we are going to give you everything you need to make this theme party happen in your home. Free invitations to download, home decor, backdrops for a photobooths, specialty cocktail recipes, EVERYTHING! The key is, you have to visit all 3 blogs to get everything you need. One of us will have the post while the other two will post the feature photo and direct you to whoever is posting that day. Am I even making sense? OK, let’s make this easy, just stop back here every day, and I’ll direct you like one of those dudes at the airport with the fancy orange sticks, as to whose blog you want to visit for the deets that particular day.

So what is the Wildwood Speakeasy? Here’s a little background. A couple months ago, Laura and Grace asked me to join them on a quest. A quest to win free tickets to the Alt Summit blogger conference in Salt Lake City. We created a mood board for an uber cool mini party. Long story short, we didn’t win (however, we are still going…yep, that’s right, so exciting!), but we really wanted to follow through on our concept, and we wanted to share it with you, our sweet readers.

DIY Modern Dreamcatcher

How to make a Modern Dreamcatcher

I’ve always loved dreamcatchers, but the style itself doesn’t exactly fit my decor. It’s more funky bohemian which I love that style, but my house is more mid-century modern (trapped inside a cookie cutter house in the land of suburbia…but that is another story). This DIY by Grace caught my eye last summer and has always stuck in my head. IT’s so beautiful and I love all the colors she incorporated. I wanteda dreamcatcher for myself, but I wanted one with a twist. Something a bit more modern, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I started to search Etsy. Now if you’ve read my DIY Blog Tour, you already know that this is the jump off to my DIY creative process. I look for some rando item for the house, Google it, get sticker shock and think, “Hmmm, can I make that?” and then I share it with you guys if it’s not an epic fail. Because that’s how I roll.

DIY – Candle Packaging

FREE PRINTABLE INCLUDED BELOW IN THIS POST! DON’T MISS IT!

Free Printable Candle Label Graphic

I have to admit, 100% of the time, if you were to place two identical items in front of me, one having spectacular packaging and the other with horrible type and all the crazy colors of a fruit bowl, I’d pick the pretty packaging hands down. Even if it was more money, I’d buy the pretty packaging. Materialistic, maybe? Vain, maybe? I’d like to think hope chalk it up to good taste. But one this is for sure, it’s the graphic designer in me. I crush on good typography. I live for it. I’m constantly judging magazines and billboards for their kerning. I just can’t help it.
