Found & Foraged Linky Party #2

Found and Foraged Linky Party

Welcome to the Found & Foraged Linky Party. First and foremost all three of us have to say we are completely amazing by your kindness and support. The sincerest thank you to each one of you who came to our very first linky party last Saturday.

At 7:56PM last week, we sat by our computers with bated breathe wondering if anyone would show up. I made The Boy sit next to me and hold my hand. Fingers, toes and eyes all crossed. Laura texted us saying if we had 6 people in 4 days we should consider it a success. Within the first couple minutes you showed up. ALL 203 OF YOU SHOWED UP! ERMERGERD! You guys put us over the moon! We were touched by your kind words, comments and emails and are extremely grateful for your support. I hope you all received some good traffic from the party, and we are hoping this evening’s party will be just as successful. With that being said, should we get this party started?!?!?

Link up your DIY’s, house projects, vintage finds, shopping scores, upcycled projects, foraged decor, recipes…basically anything else you’ve been working on! Found & Foraged is a place to show off your creativity and how you’re using found and foraged treasures to beautify the spaces around you. It’s for all those things you’ve found – vintage pieces, curb alerts, clearance treasures, thrift store gems, and those that you’ve foraged – from the yard, the basement, the in-laws garage, the garden, and to show off how you’ve made them a beautiful part of your home.

We will be hosting this linky party every Saturday at 8PM (Central Time). So be sure to add us to your calendar and check back weekly to party with us!

F E A T U R E S

You guys all brought your A Game this week. It was so hard to choose, and we know how much time goes into each and every one of your posts, we sincerely wanted to pick them all. But after lots of texting and emailing and chatting and almost coming to fisticuffs we came up with these gems! Also, since we had such a difficult time narrowing things down, we opted to pick a few individual features on our own blogs. So be sure to pop over to Avery Street and The Big Reveal to see if  you were featured!

Holiday Thrift Store Challenge Blog Hop

Holiday Thirft Store Challenge

When I got the email from Thoughts From Alice asking if I’d like to participate in the Holiday Thrift Store Challenge, I didn’t have to think twice. Yes! And yes again! Okay, how ’bout yes a third time. I was super jazzed to participate with the list of fabulous bloggers she had put together. And completely honored. But, could I keep up? I mean, I am the (self proclaimed) thrifting queen in my own little world. Well, kinda. I’m the flea market slash antiquing queen in my own little world, but thrift stores are a bit out of my element. I hadn’t been to one in a long time. You really have to know what you’re doing and have good eyes when it comes to thrift store gems. Diamonds in the rough I guess you’d call them.

So what’s this “challenge” shtuff that am I chattering about? Well, Alice asked us to venture out to our local thrift store and procure something anything for under $25 to use as holiday decor in a creative way. We could give these items a complete makeover or use it/them in a creative vignette. She wanted us to see beyond the surface of what someone discarded or no longer needed and think outside the box. She wanted us to show you, our readers, how to save money on holiday decor by using a little creativity. Well, Alice! Challenge accepted!

Thrift Score Thursday

Thrift Score Thursday

Hey you guys! Today I’m guest hosting slash Instagramming with the lovely ladies of Thrift Score Thursday. I seriously was so excited when I received an email from Brynne and Trisha that I leaped out of my chair. They sent me the email a couple months ago, but the guest posts were solidly filled until Halloween. And don’t hate on me for this, but I’m really bah-humbug on Halloween. Cringe, I’m sorry! Boo on me, I know! I mean, yes, I give candy to little children when they ring my doorbell. (And THAT doesn’t sound horrible and weird at all?!?! Oy!) I’m not The Grinch, but dressing up is SO not my thing. That is until this post apparently. I’ll get to more of that later, but I really want to get to the features first! So here we go!
